Biblical Ethics

 

 

Grades: 9th–12th

 

Course Description: An examination of the principles and practices of Christian morality. This course equips students to form sound ethical convictions based on a Christian worldview, serious study of Scripture, and consistent application of Christian virtues. Special attention will be given to significant challenges facing the contemporary church and society, including the sanctity of life, human sexuality, race, violence, environmentalism, and others. Some topics are mature and might be more suitable for older students.

Bio: John Goodrich is a full-time Professor at Moody Bible Institute and teaches part-time at Compass Bible Institute. He holds a B.A. in Bible and Theology from Moody Bible Institute, an M.Div. and a Th.M. from Talbot School of Theology (Biola University), and a Ph.D. in New Testament from the University of Durham (UK). He is the author or editor of numerous books and articles, including Following Jesus Christ: The New Testament Message of Discipleship for Today (Kregal Academic, 2019), and Choose Life: Answering Key Claims of Abortion Defenders with Compassion (Moody Publishers, 2022). John has been married to Christin for 19 years and together they have a son (Justin) who will be a high school freshman in the fall.
