Course Description:
In this course, students will be challenged to not only read and analyze great works of literature, but see literature as a source to enrich and enhance their own writing.
We will be diving into a wide range of novels, historical fiction, nonfiction, short stories, allegories, and poetry and taking time each week to engage in deep analytical discussion about themes, author inferences, writing style, and literary elements of the texts.
Students will be doing a wide range of writing including narrative, expository, argumentative, poetry, and some additional projects throughout the year.

Ashley received her Bachelor’s degree in English with a concentration in literature from Florida State University in 2000. She is a homeschool teacher to her two younger boys and often teaches in women’s ministry at her church.
