Grades: 5th-12th

Course description: Students will learn the principles and techniques in marksmanship using airsoft pistols and airsoft rifles.  Students will shoot in each class at short range targets into target traps that will capture the airsoft rounds.  Shooting will be done with a protective backdrop, ensuring all rounds are captured in the shooting area.  Students will learn pistol marksmanship in multiple stances and from multiple ranges (all short range).  Students will learn rifle technique using 4 positions: standing, kneeling, sitting, and prone, all standard military shooting positions, and will learn breathing technique, trigger pull technique, and sighting technique using hard sights (no scopes).  The course will also incorporate firearms safety lessons. 

Coach Nash was a Marine Corps Officer for 9 years and received Marine Corps marksmanship training in both rifle and pistol, and fired expert (the highest rating) in both multiple times.  He will teach these techniques to your students.  We will use hard sights only – no scopes.  Rifles and pistols will be supplied. There may be additional materials costs for airsoft rounds or targets.  There will also be a couple field trips offered to ranges away from campus.

Coach Nash has been teaching classes to home schooled students for over 20 years.  He spent 9 years as an officer in the Marine Corps, flying F-18s and running airfields.  He was trained in rifle and pistol marksmanship in the Marine Corps.  He also teaches PE, pickleball, woodworking, aviation science, and water sports (waterskiing, wakeboarding, etc).
