MORE ADVENTURES WITH THE MAGIC TREE HOUSE - BOOKS 16-32 Grades: 1st-4th Course Description: We will continue following the “Magic Tree House” Series and the “Fact Tracker” nonfiction companion book, through time, solving riddles, and creating memorable projects. During every class, we meet a new word from our book. Our word will be something from reading that might stump us. Then during the first week we talk about the Facts of the book, from the Magic Tree House Fact Finder. (You do not need to get this book). We discuss fact versus fiction, the moment in history Jack and Annie have traveled to and about that time period. We write down the “incredible five”, the five facts we have learned. During the second week of the same book, we dive into the story. We talk about the characters and plot and have a fun interactive game that helps your child get excited about reading and sharing their thoughts on the book. With every book we make a fun hands on art project associated with the book and the moment in history we study. We work on our projects for the two class periods while we are discussing the book and bring it home if it is dry in the second class. 2 WEEKS/ 2 CLASS PERIODS ON EACH BOOK Hour of the Olympics Tonight on the Titanic Buffalo before Breakfast Tigers at Twilight Dingoes at Dinnertime Civil War on Sunday Revolutionary War on Wednesday Twister on Tuesday Earthquake in the Early Morning Stage Fright on a Summer Night Good Morning, Gorillas Thanksgiving on Thursday High Tide in Hawaii A Big Day for Baseball Christmas in Camelot A Big Day for Baseball Hurricane Heroes in Texas Warriors in Winter Cost Per Semester: $278 // 16 weeks ($245 class tuition plus $33 for materials) $50 deposit this summer.
