Vocal Ensemble Grades: 5-8th grade Course Description: Welcome to Vocal Ensemble class! This class is for those new to singing or who would like to improve their skills in a relaxed and supportive environment. We will focus on singing popular Christian songs in a variety of styles including contemporary worship, gospel, and traditional hymns. Classic patriotic songs and Christmas songs will also be a part of the first semester’s curriculum. Singers will learn the basics of proper vocal technique, pitch accuracy, sight-reading, ensemble music making, and also explore music theory and appreciation. There will be a few low-key performance opportunities available that may include 1-2 Friday or weekend outings during the semester. Students will also develop teamwork and communication skills while learning to have fun making music together. This is an amazing opportunity for students to understand more about worship music and how they can praise God through song. (Returning students are welcome to take this class again as the curriculum builds and changes with each year.) A $50 non-refundable deposit will be due by June 1, 2024 and will be applied toward the class fee. They started the adventure of homeschooling in 2020 and they are excited to be a part of the Pacific Cross Preparatory community.
