Algebra 1 (8th-12th)

Algebra 1 is a required course that introduces basic algebraic skills and provides the foundation for all subsequent math courses. It is built on foundational knowledge acquired in Math 8. Topics include but are not limited to: Real Numbers, Multi-Step Equations, Linear Equations & Inequalities, Systems of Equations, Linear Functions, Exponential Functions, Quadratic Functions, Factoring Quadratic Equations, Radical Expressions & Equations, Rational Expressions & Equations, and Statistics. Class participation is encouraged and real-world application is discussed. Evaluation procedures will include, but are not limited to weekly homework, quizzes, tests, and a final examination.

Tuition: $580 per semester

Books will be pre-printed by Mrs. Owen. Students may pay Mrs. Owen directly for the books which typically cost $25 - $30 per semester.

I have many years of experience as a homeschool mom and a private math tutor. I have also been blessed to work for several years with a math-only learning center tutoring a variety of students of all ages from both public and private schools. After earning a BS in Electronic Engineers Technology, I worked in the corporate environment before deciding to stay home and teach my children.
