Course Description:
In this book, students will learn about God’s glorious design of flying creatures! We begin
exploring the dynamics of flight and animal classification, understanding why the design we see
in these incredible creatures points us to our Creator God. Then, get ready for the exciting
adventure of learning about birds, bats, and flying insects. Students will learn how to identify
various bird species by looking at their special physical characteristics, nesting habits, flight
patterns and more. They will also learn bird anatomy and what enables birds to do the
remarkable things they do.
After learning about birds, students will explore the world of chiropterology, the study of
bats.
Finally, students will investigate entomology, the study of insects. They will learn to
scientifically classify insects by a simple glance at their wings and other important
characteristics.

Bio: Connie and her husband have successfully raised and homeschooled two
daughters. Connie graduated from CSU Fullerton with a Bachelor of Science degree in
Kinesiology. She worked as a health instructor for older adults before starting her family.
However, after choosing to homeschool her two children from kindergarten, she
discovered that her passion is teaching, especially art and science.
