High School Chemistry
Grade Level & Prerequisite:
● Grades: 9th-12th
● Prerequisite: Algebra I
Course Description: The design of creation is wonderful—from the vast world we see around us to the intricate order at the atomic level. In this course, students will explore the beauty of chemistry and gain a deeper appreciation for our Creator through the study of matter, chemical interactions, and the foundational principles of science. The class is taught using a secular textbook but from a Christian worldview, reinforcing the incredible order that exists in creation.
This is a high school-level course designed to challenge and equip students with essential skills in scientific reasoning, problem-solving, and critical thinking. While chemistry is not an easy subject, success is achievable for any student willing to put in the effort. Students will strengthen important academic skills such as note-taking, studying for quizzes and tests, and applying scientific concepts with confidence.
Labs will be conducted both in class and independently at home to reinforce key concepts. Understanding is prioritized over perfection, and ample opportunities to retake quizzes are provided to ensure mastery of the material. Every student will have the opportunity to grow as a learner and build a strong foundation for future science courses.
