Old Testament Major and Minor Prophets (5th-6th)

Title of Class: Major and Minor Prophets

Grades: 5-6

Course Description: This course covers the 4 Major Prophets and the 12 Minor
Prophets. The lessons are taught in chronological order and include detailed information
on the history surrounding these books and the ruling kings in both Northern Israel and
Judah. Most lessons will include a short video on the prophet being taught. There will be
weekly homework. I will determine the worth of the homework handed in and assign it
points, which will go toward the “Leader Board,” which will be used to determine the
winning three top scores. The three winners will receive a gift card for the final class of
the spring semester. A major project will be announced in early November that will be
due about 1 week before Easter. I will give specific dates in November. This project can
add significant points to their position on the leaderboard. At the end of each class,
there will be a team competition based on their retained knowledge from the current and
previous lessons, where they can earn “Rubin Bucks” which they can turn in for
leaderboard points. Adults may find this confusing. The students get it!

Bio: I am a “Completed Jew,” having accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior in
2010 at the age of 65. I have taught 3 rd and 4 th grade Bible classes at Compass Bible
Church since 2016. I teach at AWANA every few weeks, which I have been doing since
2018. This upcoming school year, starting in September 2025, will be my third year at
PC Prep.
