Grades: 10-12

Course Description: This course is designed to introduce Physics, and provide a relatively thorough understanding of the subject from an introductory perspective.

As a result of this course, students will be able to:

• Understand the basics of physics

• Understand the basic methods of mathematics and measurements

• Understand motion, forces, and displacement in one and two dimensions

• Understand gravitation and momentum

• Understand energy, it’s conservation, and work

• Understand the principles of waves, and the basic concepts surrounding light, reflection and refraction 

• Understand electricity and magnetism, including static electricity, circuits, and magnetic fields

• Develop a rudimentary understanding of quantum mechanics, including quantum theory, the state of the atom, and nuclear and particle physics. 

• Understand and explain modern atomic theory
