Auto Maintenance & Repairs (Fall) and Home Repairs & Remodeling (Spring)

Grades: 7th-12th

Automobile Maintenance and Repairs (Semester 1): Students will work on an actual car and learn to change tires, rotate tires, change brakes, change spark plugs, troubleshoot electronics, and do other light mechanical repairs and routine maintenance.  Students will be outside in the parking lot working on Coach Nash’s car the entire time!  Come ready to get dirty and do actual work!

Home Repairs and Remodeling (Semester 2): Students will learn to do work on a home including tiling a floor, maintaining a toilet, changing on electrical outlet, and possible building a fence!  We will cover some principles and concepts in class, but the real learning will be on the job as the class goes to a house and tiles a floor with ceramic tile, changes the tank kits in toilets, changes outlets (possibly at the school site), and possibly builds a wood fence!  It will include MANY days away from school /to work on these projects at homes in the area.  Coach Nash will seek out PC Prep families who would like some of this work done at their home at a LOW COST where students will do all the work with Coach Nash’s supervision. 

Coach Nash has decades of experience in home repairs and remodeling.  He will supply all the tools needed to do these jobs.  Students just need to bring some work gloves and energy!

Cost: $395/semester

Coach Nash has been teaching classes to home schooled students for over 20 years.  He spent 9 years as an officer in the Marine Corps, flying F-18s and running airfields.  He was trained in rifle and pistol marksmanship in the Marine Corps.  He also teaches PE, pickleball, woodworking, aviation science, social dancing, and water sports (waterskiing, wakeboarding, etc).
