Title of Class: Informal Logic
Grades: 7th & 8th
Course Description:
In this class we will spend the first semester recognizing and constructing analogies, and working with stylistic devices. Studying analogies equips students to become better thinkers and communicators. The second semester we will identify fallacies in arguments and advertising. The ability to recognize fallacies helps us to think and speak truthfully. There will be roughly 1hr of homework per week. This class will be fun and involve student participation through class discussion.

Bio:
Katie is a veteran homeschool mother of four children, ranging from age 14 to 21. Having navigated the journey from the early years through two successful high school graduations, she understands both the challenges and the immense rewards of home education. A teacher by training, Katie is excited to be in the classroom fostering a love of learning and critical thinking. She is humbled to walk alongside other parents, encouraging them on their homeschool journey and she is grateful to be a part of this community.
