Course Description: In Singapore math, students must think through concepts and apply them from the very start. Deep understanding is taught through the intentional progression of concepts instead of rote memorization.  Singapore math not only helps students become more successful problem solvers, it helps them gain a sense of confidence and resourcefulness because it insists on conceptual depth. This naturally prepares students to excel in more advanced math. 

Third grade is a foundational year in your child’s math journey.  Let me help you by teaching these big concepts in class each week and giving you the structure and framework you need to make third grade a successful math year.

Bio: After earning my BA from UCLA and Teaching Credential from UCI, I taught elementary school for 12 years and then went on to teach teachers.  I believe that the best teaching and learning experiences are experiential and hands-on. When the kids are “doing” they are happier and more successful.  

After I homeschooled my own son, I found that my heart was with the homeschooling community and that’s where I wanted to teach. I am proud to be one of the original teachers at PC Prep. I love being part of this thriving community and sharing my passion for teaching with each and every student and family in my care.  

My son is grown now and attending college so I have a bit more free time. I spend it hiking, gardening, reading, and whenever we can, exploring and travelling with my husband.
