Class Title: Science-2-U

Grades: 2-6

Course Description: Science comes alive each week with exciting hands-on experiments each and every class period that kids love. I create, set-up and clean-up all the labs each week so you don’t have to! 

The course is organized into four, four-week units covering the life, earth, and physical sciences taught at the elementary school level.  Additionally, our class runs on a four-year cycle so that each year the topics are brand new.  

Topics for 2026/27 include: Kids Chemistry, The Incredible Brain, Elementary Engineering, The Wacky World of Weather, The Expanding World of Gases, More Detective Investigations, Fabulous Fruits and Flowers, & California Grunion.  

Materials: All materials provided.  No textbook necessary.  Lab sheets to be printed at home will be emailed out monthly.

Bio: After earning my BA from UCLA and Teaching Credential from UCI, I taught elementary school for 12 years and then went on to teach teachers.  I believe that the best teaching and learning experiences are experiential and hands-on. When the kids are “doing” they are happier and more successful.  

After I homeschooled my own son, I found that my heart was with the homeschooling community and that’s where I wanted to teach. I am proud to be one of the original teachers at PC Prep. I love being part of this thriving community and sharing my passion for teaching with each and every student and family in my care.  

My son is grown now and attending college so I have a bit more free time. I spend it hiking, gardening, reading, and whenever we can, exploring and travelling with my husband.
